Corporate Paperwork Concept — Columbus, GA — Accounting Technology Solutions, Inc

Meet Your New Accountant

My name is Allison Stitcher, and I am a CPA with Accounting Technology Solutions, Inc. I have been in the accounting industry for nearly 20 years. I graduated from CSU with a bachelor’s degree in Business Accounting in 2006 and completed my CPA certification in 2014.

My focus areas are on small business strategies, valuations, and forensics. I provide outsourced CFO / Controller services.

I work mainly with small businesses without full accounting departments to give them executive-level expertise without the expense of a full-time executive on the payroll.

I grew up in Manchester, Georgia. I moved to Columbus, Georgia in 2000 to return to college at CSU. Initially, I wanted to be an attorney because my father always told me I could argue with a stop sign and win. While looking into the LSAT, I discovered that the graduates who did best on the exams had an undergraduate degree in accounting. So I enrolled as an accounting major at CSU, took my first accounting class, and fell in love.

Growing up, my father owned his own business, and I spent many hours running around his hardware store as a child. I believe in small businesses and doing everything to make them more successful.

Some strategies include managing financing and insurance plans and exploring tax planning strategies. In addition, making sure the right accounting software for the business type has been implemented ensures that the person maintaining the accounting records is adequately trained.

But I prefer to go beyond to make sure the business owner understands their financial position. For example, looking at cycles in revenues of businesses to plan for operating expenses during downtimes. Also, looking at the business’s expense ratios and comparing them to industry averages to see how the company is functioning compared to other similar companies. By understanding the business’s accounting, the business owner is better able to make financial decisions. Do I buy this equipment this year or wait? Do I work on paying down this loan, or do I need an operating loan? Have I set myself up for success with careful planning?

These are just a few examples of the kind of work I try to do with the small businesses within my reach. My grand plan is to help others succeed, and one of the keys is organization. If anyone is in need, Accounting Technology Solutions will help “organize your organization.”
